HA HA + I don't never have any problem entering chat room. My comuter is too good for that. I need to make new friends of Cherie Currie music. BBut nobody is in chat room when I am inside.

<font color=red>Hi Everyone. I got an SOS from Rocketmaster, so I am here to see what I can do . Java based chat have always been a problem, but it is the most widely used chat for web pages. Sometimes downloading Microsoft Virtual Machine helps out, and making sure that your setting are right on your browser. For IE, you would go to tools, Internet Options, Advanced, then see if you have Microsoft VM on there and that they are ticked.
The only other thing I could recommend is that you switch to a NON Java based chat. MSN communities have Chatrooms that are not Java based, within the private community. Of course, that would mean someone would have to create the community and then approve the members. The chat I believe is a 100 person cap. Its far more stable than Java applet chat.

Thanks for the advice Val!
Much appreciation to our resident guru!
You RULE!
(Where's the applause icon? We need one of those!)
Let's check out her solutions in order. If the first doesn't work, we can seek out the non-Java msn variety. k?

<font color=blue>You are welcome rocketmaster. If you choose to go with MSN, you can leave it open instead of having to approve people so they may come and go freely. All you would have to do is add the link to the community on Cheries Main page like it is already.

Hi Val,
Thanks for answering our S.O.S.
Are you able to get into all three rooms?
Last night I went in the corner chat room for the second time. I could enter okay but then it would say my name was already in use and it would change my name to a guest number. Several attempts had the same results!
This morning, however, I went in and was able to post as Gus with no problem!
Go figure! Hoping for the best!

<font size=5>New Problem</font>
Hey Rocky the problem I described in the previous post is what we had Saturday night.
It has something to do with being registered but not being recognized.
It tells us the name belongs to someone already and "if you are Gus type in a code with password within 60 seconds."
When I type in the code and my login password it doesn't help.
My name then gets changed to a 5 digit guest number.
If several people are in there as numbers it gets hard to keep track of who is saying what!
Is there something I am missing?
Thanks for listening to my whining again! LOL!

This problem is still a problem but not for everyone. Any idea what the deal is rocketmaster?
When I click on the corner chat link the applet loads with my information already there.
When I connect I enter as Gus but then I get the screen message previously mentioned.

Sorry Gus,
You'll need to contact the service provider for whichever program you guys are currently using, Hostboard or Bravenet. We just link up to them, it's their system and software. I have no answers for you and this is all a bit over my head.
I wish you luck!

Thanks anyway Rocky!
Actually I just figured out a way around the problem.
After the applet loads I change my name slightly before connecting and that works okay!
I'll add a number using todays date.
For example: if I enter the chat room tonight I'll be Gus209. Tomorrow night I will be Gus210.
See ya next Saturday night Charlie215
Gus215
P.S. You could even use a semi-private sequence of numbers
to preclude impersonators by golly!

Hi Gus,
On IRC (Internet Relay Chat)some people register their nick and own the rights to it as long as they don't let it sit for 30 days without use. This is a common practice to prevent clones on their servers. You might want to try a nick like Gus2 or make something with your name in it.
I still suggest getting away from applet based chat
